Not so much a secret, but for sure a hidden unknown spot on the west side of Bloomington, Indiana. The park has only been open since October 1999. A little gem called Leonard Springs Nature Park.
With only a handful of graveled parking spots this place has fantastic waterfalls and a 1.1 mile rugged loop trail for hiking. The few times I have visited this park I have not seen many people at all. Having the waterfalls and stream all to yourself is such a treat.
The park is free to visit. Has easy steel made stairs to get down the the falls or up depending which way you decide to come from and a similar made bridge to cross the stream.
My only issue with this park is its not bigger.
